The intent of Reader’s World Summer School is to challenge students to develop a life-long love for reading and to aim high in the pursuit of reading excellence.
This programs strongly promotes intellectual stimulation, social awareness, diversity of view- points and independent thinking.
Our Approach
Believe that all students can be taught to read and comprehend to their full potential.
Identify strengths and weaknesses that may affect performance in school.
Focus on developing reading skills based on the child’s individual learning needs.
Work with students who need to enhance their reading skills and make learning easier for them.
Strive to create a balance between offline and online learning.
Keep students actively engaged in Small Group instructional teaching and written exercises.
Meet The Owner
I am a certified Reading Teacher with 24+ years of experience managing Elementary classrooms. I am adept at using positive reinforcement teaching techniques to encourage student academic growth. I am looking to contribute my classroom knowledge and teaching skills to assist your child attain academic reading growth this summer.
Here is what to expect:
1. I provide differentiated instruction based on assessment results and adapt instruction to meet students' needs.
2. I provide explicit and systematic instruction with lots of practice.
3. I provide opportunities to apply skills and strategies in reading and writing meaningful text with teacher support.
4. I don't just "cover" critical content; but I make sure students learn and reteach as necessary.
5. I monitor student progress regularly and provide ample opportunity for practice.
6. I possess a strong track record in improving reading test scores and teaching Reading effectively.
7. I am Orton Gillingham (Phonics First) certified.
8. Accelerated Reader proficient.
